Incoco Nail Polish Appliqué in Topaz Treasure

Incoco says: The research and development for non-liquid nail polish began in 1988, and with more than 20 years of advancements in innovation, Incoco has opened an entirely new category in the cosmetics industry. Incoco is the first and only manufacturer of 100% real nail polish appliqués – taking nail polish out of the bottle and transforming it into self-stick strips.
Incoco fuses together multiple coats of high-quality liquid nail polish into a single strip that results in brilliant, salon-quality manicures in just a few minutes! With this revolutionary and globally patented technology, Incoco offers more than beautiful shades, finishes, and designs – the nail polish strips bring innovation and convenience to modern women everywhere.

Some people were meant to teach.  Some people were meant to lead.  And maybe some people were meant to properly apply nail polish strips… unfortunately, I’m not one of those people.

I was thrilled when Incoco contacted me to review their nail appliques.  Thrilled and a little… nervous.  I had only tried the whole nail polish sticker thing (from a different brand) once and it took me about and hour.  I couldn’t get them to go on straight, didn’t get it down to my cuticle… it was a disaster.  So I wasn’t sure how round two go, but hey why not give it a try.  I like to live on the edge.

The package came with 16 nail appliques that range in size.  Each end of the applique is a different size so you can decide which one is the best fit for you nail bed.  You then peel off the clear coat on the front (that protects the polish design) and the paper off the back (which reveals the sticky side).  After that, there’s a little tab on one end and you simply rip it off.  You then decide which ends best fits your nail bed, place the sticker on the nail, “stretch” to fit, and file off the excess {pics later in the post}.  Sounds pretty easy peezy, right?

I started with my pinky and moved in to the thumb.  The most difficult part *for me* is getting it on straight and making sure it covers the whole nail.  Since this is made of real nail polish, it actually does stretch, which is really neat.  If you pull too much the design will start to crack so you have to be careful.  Did you ever have that peel off nail polish when you were a kid?  These feel really similar that.  The excess easily came off with the provided nail file.  The whole process probably took me 30 minutes (not including nail prep time).  The average person probably can do it in less time, but I am less than average when it comes to nails.

I’ve only been wearing these for two days, and so far so good.  I’ve gotten lots of compliments on my nails!  I try to fool people into thinking I had painted it, but people who know me know better.  They promise to last for two weeks (which, I’m skeptical), so we will see!  I will update when they start to fade.

Overall
It really does look and feel like real nail polish!  I’m not great with nail appliques, but these proved to be fairly easy.  I had a few minor rips and tears when *stretching* it to fit my nail, but nothing too noticeable.  I’ve been wearing them for two days and so far, so good!

Not too bad. I mean, there are some little rips and tears here and there. Oh then there’s this:

Epic fail when applying nail strips

I totally missed one side of my ring finger, but made up for it on my pinky.
