I know I say this every post, but I can’t believe that it’s the end of May! It really makes me reflect on how far I’ve come in one short year. Last year at this time, I was working at my full time office job and attending esthetics school, dreaming of a career in the cosmetics industry. Things are quite different in 2013!
I started off the month in Bennett Springs, finishing up my family vacation. It’s hard to believe that the next day after this it was SNOWING! Missouri weather is crazy.
I had a few weddings this month! I love being a part of someone’s special day! {booking inquiries}
My “little” cousin graduated from high school! I’m so proud of him! In other news, dayum I feel old.
I FELL. HARD. Want to hear the story?
So I was leaving a wedding, dragging my giant pink train case on one side and my chair on the other side of me. I was wearing 6 inch wedges (as I normally do) and getting ready to cross a busy street downtown. A car stopped and motioned for me to cross, I waved my hand to thank him and began to scurry across the 4 lane street. Mid way, I go down. And I mean DOWN. Shoes and sunglasses fly off, my case tips over, and my chair hit the ground with a loud BAM. I struggled for what seemed like 30 minutes to get my shoes back on and lift my case up (thankful that it didn’t pop open). A few cars stopped to see if I was okay. I just sort of nodded and said, “I’m fine” even though I was mortified. Once I got up and got myself together, a young teenage boy stopped to see if I was okay. I said I was fine, and as he was rolling up his window he said, “you still look good though.” Well thanks, dude, I think?
There’s just something about froyo that makes me so happy inside. Nothing says summer like Yogurtini!
I made these glitter sunnies that I’m obsessed with. I get compliments on them all the time! {tutorial}
My foot bath has been my BFF lately. I spend a lot of time on my feet (and most days in heels) so this is my salvation. I use some old skincare that I don’t use anymore to give them some extra pampering! {more about foot bath}
I applied to get my Kansas license! That way I’ll be licensed in two states (Kansas City is in KS and MO).
A special moment that I captured with a bride and one of her bridesmaids. Her shoes were TO DIE.
May has been busy, I’ve been working a lot on blog stuff and MUA stuff. But I tell myself all the time, you gotta do what yo gotta do!
Be brave. Take risks. Nothing can substitute experience.
Drink water. Wear SPF.
