DermOrganic says (shampoo): Daily Conditioning Shampoo is made with facial cleansers derived from lipids and amino acids that moisturize and strengthen salon-treated hair. Gentle on hair, scalp and skin, it creates a rich luxurious lather that makes other sulfate-free shampoos jealous!
Masque Hair Repair: Masque Hair Repair is rich in rice amino acids that replicate the keratin structure of human hair. Repairs damage, seals the cuticle, neutralizes pH, and restores resilience to salon-treated hair. Made without silicone, propylene glycol or glycerin, use as often as desired for silky smooth hair without fear of buildup.
Leave-in Treatment: Leave-In Treatment is made with Certified Argan Oil of Morocco to repair, protect and improve hair shine. Restores optimal moisture balance, smoothes and softens, speeds drying time, and protects hair from thermal styling.
I used to never color my hair (not counting when I was in 7th grade my goth black hair attempt turned blue). I used to think that everyone looked the best with their natural hair color, why change it? That is, until this past January when I had my quarter-life crisis. I all of a sudden decided that I could not live one more day with my stupid dark brown hair. I had the same long brown hair since high school and I needed a change. I brought a picture of J Lo and Jessica Alba to my hair stylist and told her to make it happen. Voila, I’m now part of the “Color-Treated Hair Club.” Hello everyone.
I love love love my new lighter hair color. However, color treated hair requires a little bit more maintenance. Check out this scary image from the DermOrganic website:

Gross! My new hair color came with a price. No worries, DermOrganic says they will fix it!

repaired & healthy hair has a smooth cuticle that feels soft
I’ve been consistently using for two weeks, here’s my thoughts:
Shampoo: It’s lightly scented, very clean, sweet, and fresh. I do one full pump for my long (lower back) thick hair and it’s more than enough (I could probably stand to use a little less. As it work it into my wet hair, it really lathers and gets sud-sy (for lack of a better word). It easily rinses out and doesn’t leave behind any sort of residue or scent. It says that it’s made with facial cleansers, meaning that it has a pH of 4.5-5.5 (the same as the skin). That means that it won’t dry out your hair OR skin, which is a plus.
Masque: This is lightly scented, very similar to the shampoo. My dry color treated hair likes a nice, thick hair treatment and this product really delivers. I do two full pumps (which I’m sure is more than enough, but I really like to coat my hair). It feels thicker than the conditioner but still maintains a creamy consistency. I like to work it into my hair and gently run my fingers through it until there aren’t any tangles. I leave it in for 4-6 minutes (I take long showers…) before rinsing. It says to leave it on for one minute, but I always leave my conditioner on for longer than that. I rinse for a good minute or two before sweezing out the excess water and towel drying my hair.
Treatment: Another pleasant smelling product. It says to use “a few” drops and work into damp hair. I interpret “a few” to be 3-4 drops, which isn’t near enough for my hair. Also, the product doesn’t really dispense in drops, it more so pours out of the small hole opening. I use a dime sized amount on each half of my hair (so end up using about a quarter size amount). I work from the middle to the ends of my hair, really using the palms of my hands to rub it in. It doesn’t leave any greasy residue (which is surprising since I’m using much more than the suggested amount), whether I let my hair air dry or blow dry.
Overall
I’m certainly a fan of this hair care. It doesn’t have any of those yucky ingredients that dry out your hair and is safe for color treated hair. It’s made my color-treated hair feel soft and smooth and it smells amazing. I also LOVE that the shampoo and masque come in a pump, so convenient! While it’s priced more than the average drugstore brand, it’s less than some of the high-end stuff. I recommend this for any hair type (fine hair, just go easy on the masque) color-treated or not.
